Tax forms → import-ready files Beta
Checked against your form's own totals.
Drop a 1099-B or 1099-DA PDF, a Coinbase CSV or a Kraken ledger export. TaxForms reads it in your browser, sorts each sale into its Form 8949 box, checks every box against the totals printed on the form, and gives you files for TurboTax, Koinly or your own Form 8949.
- 1099-B and 1099-DA PDFs, Coinbase and Kraken CSVs
- Box-by-box totals check, to the cent, with a red warning on any mismatch
- Nothing is uploaded: your account numbers and trades stay on your device
Files are read in this browser tab and never uploaded.
What you get
Form 8949 CSV
One row per sale with Part, Box and columns (a)–(h). Wash sales get code W and market discount code D in columns (f) and (g).
TurboTax gain/loss CSV
Currency Name, Purchase Date, Cost Basis, Date Sold, Proceeds: the five-column CSV used by TurboTax's crypto gain/loss upload.
TXF for TurboTax Desktop
Stock sales (boxes A–F) under their TXF codes, with wash sale amounts. Digital-asset boxes have no TXF codes, so crypto stays in the CSVs.
TurboTax universal crypto CSV
For exchange history: Intuit's 13-column template with UTC times, no negative numbers and at most 8 decimal places.
Koinly universal CSV
For exchange history: sent, received and fee columns, USD value where known, and reward/income tags.
Excel workbook
The rows, plus a box totals sheet showing the parsed sums next to the totals printed on your form.

FAQ
Is anything uploaded?
No. PDFs and CSVs are opened inside your browser tab and the output files are built there. Only the page's code (and, for scanned pages, the OCR engine) is downloaded to your device. If you activate a license, the key is sent to Gumroad to check it.
How does the totals check work?
Brokers print totals for each Form 8949 box: at the end of each section and usually in a summary table. TaxForms adds up the rows it read and compares proceeds, cost basis, wash sales, market discount, gain/loss and (where printed) the number of rows, to the cent. A box that doesn't match is shown in red with the difference.
What doesn't it do?
It doesn't calculate cost basis or gains from raw trades, fill in missing basis, decide short- vs long-term where the form doesn't, or file anything. Rows that need your judgement are marked.
Why "Beta"?
TaxForms has been tested on synthetic 1099-B and 1099-DA statements built to resemble common layouts, and on synthetic Coinbase and Kraken exports. Real forms vary between brokers and years, so please check the box totals panel every time and tell us if a layout doesn't read correctly.
What does the free version include?
Every row in the preview and the full box totals check, free. Downloads include the first 10 rows of each file. A TaxForms pass ($12 once, valid until October 15, 2027) or CleanStatement Pro unlocks every row.
Is this tax advice?
TaxForms is a file-conversion and arithmetic-check tool. It is not tax advice, doesn't calculate cost basis, and doesn't prepare or file your return. Check every figure against your original forms, and ask a tax professional if you're unsure how something should be reported.
